Honestly, I look forward to Halloween every year. We get together with my brother and his wife to eat dinner, hand out tons of candy, and carve pumpkins. Even though the costumes are great, I think the carving is my favorite part. I decided to start 365 Monsters with one of my pumpkins from this year's selections. I found a nasty looking green pumpkin and kept things simple with pointy teeth and lopsided eyes.
Hi and welcome to my new blog. 365 Monsters is a daily blog set to run along with a new series I'm working on with the same name. I'll create a new monster each and every day for the next year running from Halloween to Halloween. Each post will have a picture of the monster for that day and a brief description...plus anything that comes to mind when I get there. The monsters will be drawings, paintings, sculptures, made up, based on mythology, etc. I want to keep this project fresh, exciting, and interactive. I’m just a regular guy who poses as an artist and who also happens to love monsters. While working as an artist, I usually base my pieces on traditional subjects to this area: landscapes, plants, & animals…my style is more contemporary though.
